adapted from Mark Bittman, How to Cook Everything
made with love for IHCC Beat the Heat
makes 2 large or 4 small drinks
Frozen daiquiris have taken over from the traditional kind, which, as "straight-up" drinks, are stronger.
¾ cup (6 oz) white rum
1 tbsp superfine sugar, or 2 tbsp simple syrup, or to taste
1/4 cup freshly squeezed lime juice, or to taste
1 cup crushed ice, or more to taste
Combine all ingredients in a blender and whiz until creamy.
Pour into cocktail glasses and serve.
*Traditional Daiquiri: Use the above ingredients but shake in a martini shaker and strain to serve.
*Strawberry Daiquiri: Add 1 cup cleaned, hulled, and roughly chopped strawberries to the blender with the other ingredients.

I'm in ;)
I love that pic with the fan in the background - very clever! Count me in for several daiquiris. I could definitely use more than one:)
I think I need to experiment with the daiquiri a bit! I'm not sure if I've ever had one!!
Thanks guys!
Spryte - you will likely want more fruit, ice and sugar and less booze if you are not used to daiquiris. They can be strong, like this one, or mild and sweet. They are great for experimenting to taste.
